Has it been
a week since saying good night in the rain outside Pravda’s elevator?
I should have written much sooner, but the days have fled. I want to thank you
so very much on behalf of all of us at WLA. I’ve done parties and auctions
before, but not with this organization, and it was a first for WLA, so we kind
of wandered in not knowing very much where we were headed. And we wouldn’t
have made it very far entertainment side without you two. You took care of everything,
and it was wonderful. It ran so smoothly, and beautifully. For us, the evening
was a huge success. I was able to stop tending to things a few times, and just
watch the groups of artists and lawyers chatting away. That was exactly what
we had hoped for. We’ve even been asked if we’re going to do it
again next year, and we probably will, though maybe a little quieter.
And so I hope it also proved satisfying for you. That you met people, found
good conversations, maybe got a little something to eat before it disappeared.
An evening like that goes so quickly! I hope it’s good in your memory.
And I hope our paths will cross again. Of course, if there’s anything
I can do for you, ask.
I realize that in the whole planning process I had no contact with the musicians,
except for Paula, whom I had exchanged emails with previously concerning the
Arts Legal Clinic. I’ll write Paula. Will you extend my deep thanks and
appreciation to the others? Music makes the world. I don’t know what we’d
do without musicians.
