The 'call and response' form of these work songs of the sea makes them easy to learn and fun to sing. All ages welcome. Captain John Burke will be on board as songleader to keep things moving, with opportunity for anyone to lead a song or just join in the chorus. His experiences by sail and oar provide a genuine salty air to the songs he leads and the stories he tells. Admission free, donations accepted. Refreshments & maritime CDs for sale. First Sundays at the Commons presents:
classical pianist Regina Yeh in concert on Sunday, May 4 at 4:00 pm. Ms. Yeh who is presently on the faculty of the University of Washington has performed as a soloist and collaborative pianist throughout the United States and abroad. Ms. Yeh will be performing the same program on Bainbridge Island that she will play later in the month in her Weill Hall Carnegie Hall Debut in NYC.  The program includes works by Schumann, Chopin and Liszt as well as Chinese folk transcriptions and works by Taiwanese composer Ma Sui-Long and Chines American composer Zhou Dong.  The concert takes place at the Bainbridge Commons which is located next to the Senior Center at 402 Brien Drive by Waterfront Park.  Admission is at the door (no advanced ticket sales) $20 adults, $15 seniors, $10 students.  For more information go to:  www.firstsundaysconcerts.org

This week's guest instructor is Floyd Engstrom. Beginners/Intermediates of all ages and are welcomed. $5 per session. We break down two tunes each session.
