Bells of the Sound presents
“Ringing the Sound for 20 Years”
As incredible as it may seem, 2009 marks the
20th Anniversary of Bells of the Sound, the Puget Sound’s premier community
handbell ensemble. This is quite a feat for any non-profit organization, and
even more so for a group as unique as ours. Pardon us for ringing our own bell,
but we think it’s a cause for celebration! Ringing the Sound for 20 Years,
our spring concert series, will feature some of the signature pieces we’ve
played throughout the years - In The Mood, Hungarian Dance #5, Farandole and
Entry of the Gladiators – as well as many of the original handbell compositions
for which we’ve become known. We look forward to celebrating 20 years of
ringing excellence in the Pacific Northwest, and we really hope you can join us
- the past twenty years just wouldn’t have been the same without
you!

Bells of the Sound is not your typical handbell
choir. Under the direction of Shirley Lindberg, this talented group of
musicians is a dynamic force in the handbell world - encouraging composers to
create new works and advancing this exciting instrument into the mainstream of
entertainment. They perform on over 7 octaves of Malmark handbells and 5
octaves Malmark Choirchimes - over 150 pieces of equipment and one of the
largest sets in the country. Bells of the Sound will give you a whole new
perspective of handbells that you won't want to miss!

Guitar Workshop
PSGW runs three independent, one-week-long
Guitar Workshop sessions each year designed for adults ranging from bare-bones
beginners to professional musicians and singers. The teachers and classes are
different in each session and although there are a number of classes that will
always be given (e.g. beginning guitar), each week develops its own character
based on that week's unique teachers, classes, and students. A list of teachers
and classes is available here. The brochure for each year's summer sessions can
be viewed through the PSGW website: www.langston.com/PSGW
The dates for the upcoming summer sessions
are:
Session 1: July 25 - July 31
Session 2: August 1 - August 7
